COMM155/ART155 TR
Moroccan Design & Communicating with Social Media
Course meets during the Spring 2027 semester online on either Mondays OR Thursdays from 6:30-9:00pm
Travel occurs during May Term 2027: May 11 - 21, 2027
In May 2027, students will join Design and Communications Professors Camille Murphy and Alissa Poster for a focused study abroad experience in Marrakesh, Morocco, exploring art, design and local culture through the lens of social media and content creation. Highlights include the Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, where students will see firsthand how Moroccan color and craft shaped Saint Laurent's work. Time in the ancient medina will introduce students to historic sites such as the Saadian Tombs and El Badi Palace, along with vibrant souks and contemporary galleries that reveal the city's evolving creative scene. With Professor Murphy's prior experience in Marrakesh and trusted local guides supporting the group, the trip offers a safe and enriching environment for learning about design in a global context.
