Arts & Culture in the "City of Lights"
Course meets during the Spring I 2027 term (the first eight weeks of the spring semester + spring break) asynchronously with three Friday 1:15-2:30pm meetings.
Travel occurs during Spring Break 2027: March 5, 2027 to March 13, 2027
PARIS: It needs no introduction. Renowned for its art, architecture, cuisine, and cafés. Paris is the international heart of Europe and the site of an unforgettable one-week study abroad program. Students will have ample time to explore major sights as well as experience parts of the city that are off the beaten path. All activities will be conducted in English, but this is also an excellent time to brush up on your French!

TENTATIVE Itinerary
All the landmarks mentioned in this itinerary will be visited. Some changes may be made in the order they will be visited depending upon the weather.
Day 1: Depart from the US in the evening for an overnight flight to Paris.
Day 2: Arrive in Paris in the morning and transfer to the city. Visit iconic landmarks, including Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, and the Pantheon. Enjoy lunch, explore more sights like the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, and visit a famous bookstore. End the day with dinner and a Seine River cruise.
Day 3: Spend the day exploring the Louvre, Montmartre, and Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Visit Palais Garnier and enjoy a macaron tasting. Lunch and dinner are included.
Day 4: Take a morning trip to Fontainebleau, followed by lunch. Enjoy free time in the Latin Quarter before gathering for dinner.
Day 5: Free time. Enjoy lunch and explore the city, with dinner on your own.
Day 6: Take an early morning visit to Versailles. The rest of the day includes sightseeing and free time.
Day 7: Enjoy a final day in Paris with more sightseeing and exploration. Some may attend an opera performance in the evening.
Day 8: Depart Paris in the morning and return home.
